Light Bulbs

A Photographic Study

As my studies took me in the direction of theatrical lighting design, I found a fascinating subject in the light bulb.

These images are an exploration of the questions: Why are we looking at this? What makes it interesting? What makes it beautiful? And how can we look at it differently?

Tender Movements

An overexposed background with no front light, and a shutter speed of 2-5 seconds give these photos a tender magic. Presented as small prints (2"x3"), they seem gem-like.

Portraits and Lenses

Tiny Landscapes, Light and Illusion

These tiny landscapes are explorations of what illusions can be made with light and simple materials like white paper and linen. It was so much fun playing with depth of field, shutter speed, and combinations of differently colored light on such a small scale.
